Mary Beth is
often asked, "How durable are your Native American rugs or floot cloths?" She responds that
George Washington listed a floor cloth valued at $14.82 in 1779 in a
financial disclosure and early Americans often used them to cover dirt
floors. When used as wall
hangings they will survive as heirlooms to pass on to future generations.
They were and are not only practical but valuable art. Paint and sealer has
only improved since then. Floor
cloths survive today in museums from the 1800’s.
